Publication Fee
The American Journal of Engineering and Technology charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) of USD 650 per accepted article. The same standard fee applies to all article types accepted for publication.
The APC is payable only after formal acceptance, following the journal’s editorial assessment and peer-review process. Authors are not required to pay an APC when submitting a manuscript or while it is under review.
No Submission or Peer-Review Fees
- Submission fee: None.
- Peer-review fee: None.
- APC for rejected manuscripts: None.
- Additional journal charges: None.
The journal does not impose hidden fees or additional charges beyond the applicable APC confirmed in the acceptance communication and invoice. Any approved waiver or discount will be reflected in the amount payable.
What the APC Covers
The APC supports the editorial, production, and technical services required to publish and maintain an open-access research article, including:
- Editorial processing: Manuscript administration, editorial assessment, and communication throughout the publication process.
- Peer-review coordination: Reviewer communication, handling of review reports, and coordination of manuscript revisions.
- Copyediting: Editorial checks for clarity, consistency, and presentation.
- Typesetting and author proofs: Preparation of publication-ready files and proofs for author review.
- DOI registration: Assignment and registration of an article DOI and preparation of associated metadata.
- PDF and HTML publication: Preparation and online publication of the article in PDF and HTML formats.
- Hosting and digital preservation: Maintenance of the published article, its online files, and digital preservation arrangements.
- Indexing and discoverability support: Preparation and submission of article metadata to relevant indexing and discovery services, where applicable.
- Open-access management: Management of article access, licensing information, and publication metadata.
Indexing and discoverability services are subject to the eligibility criteria and independent decisions of the relevant databases. Payment of the APC does not guarantee inclusion in any particular indexing database, search engine, or citation service.
Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are based on the manuscript’s scholarly merit, relevance to the journal, and compliance with its editorial and ethical requirements.
An author’s ability to pay, request for a waiver, or receipt of a discount does not influence the peer-review process or the acceptance decision. Payment does not purchase acceptance or override publication ethics requirements.
Waivers and Discounts
The journal offers partial discounts and, in some cases, full APC waivers to support authors who face financial barriers to publication.
Requests may be considered from:
- Authors based in developing or least-developed countries who have limited access to publication funding.
- University students and research scholars with limited institutional or personal funding.
- Researchers affiliated with organizations conducting substantive research with potential scientific or societal impact, where publication funding is limited.
- Authors experiencing exceptional financial circumstances.
Waivers and discounts are assessed individually, taking account of financial circumstances, available funding, and the journal’s capacity to provide support. Eligibility for consideration does not automatically guarantee a waiver.
Authors should contact editor@theamericanjournals.com to request a waiver or discount, preferably at submission and before making payment. The request should identify the manuscript, author affiliation, country, available funding, and the reason financial assistance is needed.
Any approved waiver or discount will be confirmed in writing before payment. A full waiver removes the APC payment requirement for the accepted article.
Invoicing and Payment Deadline
Following formal acceptance, the journal will issue an invoice confirming the applicable APC, any approved reduction, and authorized payment instructions.
Payment is due within 45 days of the invoice date. The invoice is issued after formal acceptance. Authors who need additional time should contact the editorial office before the payment deadline.
Publication proceeds after payment has been received and confirmed, or a full waiver has been approved, and the required production steps have been completed.
Payment Methods
Payment may be made through:
- PayPal.
- Bank transfer.
- Other payment methods expressly authorized by the editorial office.
Authors should use only the payment details provided in the official invoice or verified correspondence from the editorial office. For verification or payment assistance, contact editor@theamericanjournals.com .
Withdrawal and Refund Policy
Author-requested withdrawal after payment: If an author requests withdrawal after the APC has been paid but before publication, the journal will process the withdrawal. The paid APC is non-refundable.
Non-publication by the journal: If the journal has accepted the article and received payment but is subsequently unable to publish it, the APC paid to the journal will be refunded to the payer.
Requests concerning published articles: Once an article has been published, requests for its removal or withdrawal will be assessed under the journal’s publication ethics and correction or retraction procedures. Published articles are not automatically removed on request. An author-requested withdrawal does not create an entitlement to an APC refund.
Withdrawal requests and refund enquiries must be submitted to the editorial office with the manuscript title, submission ID, and payment reference, where applicable.
