Abstract

Organized crime represents a complex criminological phenomenon characterized by coordinated criminal activities, structured relationships, operational continuity, and adaptive methods of avoiding law enforcement. Understanding its structure and dynamics requires an analytical framework that integrates organizational characteristics, criminal behavior, forensic investigation, legal interpretation, and operational intelligence. This research and review article develops a conceptual framework for examining organized crime through a qualitative, reference-based analytical approach. The study synthesizes the supplied literature concerning forensic tactics, biometric identification, criminal law, investigative technologies, and operational-search activities. It proposes a multidimensional model comprising organizational structure, operational processes, enabling resources, investigative indicators, and institutional responses. Particular attention is given to the relationship between forensic evidence and the reconstruction of criminal networks, including the potential contribution of biometric identification and technology-assisted scene examination. The analysis indicates that organized crime cannot be adequately understood through isolated criminal incidents alone; rather, it requires the systematic interpretation of relationships, repeated behavioral patterns, and evidence connecting individuals and activities. The proposed framework offers a conceptual basis for improving investigative coordination and criminological assessment while recognizing limitations associated with incomplete evidence, technological reliability, legal safeguards, and the diversity of criminal organizations. The article contributes an integrated analytical perspective for future empirical research and the development of evidence-based investigative practices.
